I think a weakness that I have for this class is definitely playing it safe. I feel like I have some creative thoughts, but for readers, it would not come across the way I meant it too. My biggest concern is confusing someone, or someone not seeing it from my perspective. I think I am going to try and write a wacky post. Although the comments on the story might be kind of scary, I want to be as creative as I can!

I think that weakness it something that most people in this class can relate to. It is really hard to put yourself on the line creatively. However, I think it helps that this class is geared towards promoting creative writing and useful feedback. I look forward to reading your wacky post!
ReplyDeleteI have never thought about playing it safe being a weakness. This week when writing my story I decided that it was time for me to step out of my comfort zone with my story telling ideas. Basically because at the beginning of the semester Mrs.Gibbs gave me an idea for a story telling idea and I had been scared to use it. I never thought of it as a weakness until reading your post. I always feel like my readers aren't going to see the point I am trying to get across with my stories. You are not the only one!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I love the image that you used. The colors work really well with your site. I think you should branch out and try something new in this class. It can be fun to stretch the limits of your imagination to create a story. I usually stick with first person perspectives because it is what I’m good at. Descriptions are key! I think just taking the story and zeroing in on a certain part could help you focus more on the details so that it is harder for people to be confused.
ReplyDeleteHey Haley, I agree 100% with what you say, it is exactly how I feel sometimes when I write a story or even write a comment. Sometimes I feel that I did not convey the exact message I wanted to. However, with the weeks passing by, I feel much more confortable now and I think this class helped a lot into achieving it.
